Address Unknown |
by Katherine Kressmann Taylor |
This play tells the story of two German expatriates who left
Germany in 1918 just after the end of the First World war. The two friends settled in San Francisco where
they became partners in a successful art gallery. After one of the partners returns to Germany in 1932 with
his wife and children, and re-establishes himself in Munich, politics on a worldwide scale overwhelm the
friends, and as the Nazi Party rises to power, betrayal and revenge threaten all they hold dear.
The play dramatically portrays the rise of fascism and its unrelenting effect on the human soul.
Address Unknown is a story as urgent in importance today as when it was written as a novel by Katherine
Kressmann Taylor in 1939.
